Rethink the waffle
Waffle D’Jour serves authentic Belgian waffles, which are made with a special kind of sugar, called pearl sugar. We use only the freshest ingredients and import this sugar directly from Belgium, to bring you a taste of Belgium.
An authentic Belgian waffle is very different from those sold in America today. Belgium's most common waffle is traditionally referred to as the liege waffle. The ingredients used and the method of preparation is what makes this a unique treat. A Liège waffle (named after the city of Liège, in eastern Belgium) was invented in the 18th century. It contains chunks of pearl sugar. This special type of sugar caramelizes on the outside of the waffle when baked. It is available in vanilla and cinnamon flavors with optional toppings. Liege waffles are sold by street vendors throughout Belgium. This delicious treat has been a big hit across Europe for centuries and we at Waffle D'Jour wish for you to experience this authentic Belgian specialty.
